Home Sweet Furniture was founded by computer programmer, Ryan Wager, and his mom, Candy. This mother-son duo pools their strengths each day to make sure clients get the best online furniture deals.

"I choreograph this entire ballet," said Ryan Wager of his role as president and founder of Home Sweet Furniture. Each day, Ryan strives to remove barriers to entry for clients. "We have no overhead and we're less expensive than other companies. There shouldn't be a reason people don't shop with us." Ryan enjoys seeing the impact Home Sweet Furniture has on people. "I like knowing that because of a business I created, someone now has a sofa in their living room and they got a really good deal on it," he said. "I try not to lose that perspective." As a serial entrepreneur, Ryan has started other businesses including a car dealership, but says Home Sweet Furniture has special meaning for him. "This business gives me the chance to take care of my mom. It's allowed me to build a future for her and make sure she's taken care of."

Candy Wager

"I'm the ambassador, he's the architect," said Candy Wager of Home Sweet Furniture. She credits her office management experience and attention to detail as critical to the success of running the company's day-to-day operations. Candy's fingerprints are on every order whether she's talking live with a client, fulfilling special orders or making sure the company's PriceBeat Guarantee is enforced. She enjoys this job because of how it's stretched her professionally. "I didn't know Microsoft Excel when I started. Now, I'm designing Web pages, working with our team of vendors and ensuring we get our clients the best delivery rates.." Candy says the best part about being half of this mother-son online adventure, though, is the chance to work with Ryan. "We may run the company from different states but Ryan and I talk every day. He's always in my chat window."
